Thankful Third Thursday

So, I am attempting to start a new meme. I wonder if this will work?

The theory is, that on the third Thursday of every month I am going to write ten things I am thankful for. Then tag three (note the t’s) people in the meme to pass it on.

So here we go…ten things I am thankful for this Thankful Third Thursday:

1. We’ve had a lovely relaxing family holiday. I didn’t realise how much I needed it until we got there.

2. Littlebit has not only started crawling in the last few weeks, but she is also storming away with her walking too. Who’d have thunk it really, that the 2lb 4.5oz 10 week early baby would be walking before she’s one. She still clings on for dear life but still, she can’t half get some speed up.

So it seems she’s not at all behind with her motor skills at the moment. That’s something to be very thankful for.

3. New friends. I have met many new mummies in the last year but there are two that I have particularly bonded with and would call close friends now. They both live locally, which is awesome as I no longer live in my home town (and as chance would have it neither do they, my new friends are a Bristolian and a Grimsby-tonian). Like me they didn’t know too many people from around here until recently.

Littlebit gets on really well with the little ones too. One I think may be a future boyfriend (he undresses her at every given opportunity and they’re not even one yet) and the other is definitely her role model, being a feisty 27 weeker herself. Very thankful for my fab mummy friends.

4. Continuing from point 3. One of my new mummy friends Mummybeadzoid introduced me to blogging. I never saw myself as a blogger but I am loving it! It’s great therapy too, I am thankful for blog-erapy.

5. That I am lucky enough to not have to return to full time work. I still work part time for our own business but that’s on my terms so Littlebit and I can still get out and about every day.

6. Fantastic NHS staff. Both midwives and neonatal nurses, we met some amazing and dedicated people through my pregnancy and Littlebit’s hospital stay and I am thankful that we’re still in touch with many of them.

7. The NHS. If we lived in a country with no National Health Service Littlebit would have run up bills of well over £100k by now.

8. A baby who sleeps through the night and pretty much has done since she was just a few months old, and who takes at least one (sometimes two) hour long nap during the day. I know a few mummies whose little ones don’t sleep through and quite honestly I don’t know how they function.

9. The wonderfully fabulous lifetime friends I have met in the Roody family. Sadly, the wonderful Roody’s Creation Shop / Cafe will shortly be closing down, but I am so thankful for it’s year long life, as without it I would never have met one of the nicest (and craziest) families I know. Love you guys!

10. I beat the evil killer disease pre eclampsia. It didn’t get me. It didn’t do any long term damage to my baby girl and although it has had, and will continue to have a huge impact on my life in many ways I beat it!

In traditional meme fashion I get to tag three unsuspecting fellow bloggers to find out what they’re thankful for this third Thursday.

– sorry, I know you hate memes but you are one of my fave bloggettes so I want to know what you’re thankful for :)

Pass it on!
