This is my second Thankful Third Thursday meme. It’s not caught on yet, though thanks to the lovely Kylie from Not Even A Bag of Sugar for picking it up last time. I’m not one to give up that easily, so here goes.
The meme theory is, that on the third Thursday of every month I am going to write ten things I am thankful for. Then tag three (note the t’s) people in the meme to pass it on.
So here we go…ten things I am thankful for this Thankful Third Thursday:
1. As much as I wish she didn’t have to have it, Littlebit is in for eye surgery tomorrow. I’m thankful that we have a health service to fix her, with no cost to us. They’ve already done so much for her.
2. Littlebit had an appointment with her Paediatrician last month who said he’s very pleased with her progress and thinks she’s developing fine. He did all of the initial checks for CP and said that a the moment she’s showing no signs.
3. For our new found extended family. The reason I loved Roody’s Creation Shop so much wasn’t for the scrummy cake or fab surroundings but for the people. The Roody family (and staff). That’s why I was so very upset when they had to close the shop down. But I am so thankful that we’re still very much in touch and going on girlie shopping trips, lunches and coffee regularly.
4. My Mum. I don’t know what I’d do without her. Go insane probably. I always knew she’d be mad about any grandchild but she never believed it. She is, as expected, a loving, doting Granny who swoops in whenever I need her and has fun with Littlebit in the process.
5. Our successful trip to Westminster and all the lovely people I met that day.
6. Coffee. I love coffee. That is all.
7. Diet coke, as above
8. Littlebit’s general health. Recently I have been doing the whole “what if” stuff and although I already knew it I have RE-realised just how lucky we are. So far, she really isn’t showing any lasting effects of her prematurity, well nothing that can’t be fixed anyway like her eyes.
9. That the Roody family introduced me to the lovely Matt Webb, affectionately known as Matty Boi. He is an incredible artist, have a look at some of his work on his website Webbart. His pieces are totally unique and unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I must admit when I first saw the first piece in Roody’s shop I didn’t “get it” but the more I stared at it, and the more I studied it over the weeks, I grew to understand it (or get my own understanding from it anyway). What I am thankful for is that the introduction to this fabulously talented fella who I would now call a friend will also be resulting in a one off commission all about Littlebit’s journey through her first year. We won’t have it till the new year but I am incredibly excited about it.
The first piece of Matt’s work I ever saw
10. My clever husband has a new job which means he will finish work an hour earlier than previously. Now an hour probably doesn’t sound like much to most people, but it’ll make the world of difference in our house. Any extra time me and Littlebit get with him is a bonus. Bring on the 12th December when he starts it
In traditional meme fashion I get to tag three unsuspecting fellow bloggers to find out what they’re thankful for this third Thursday:

Pass it on!

Oh bless, I didn’t know she needs eye surgery is it for ROP?
I had eye surgery when I was little, and Joseph is still on the watch and wait list with opthalmology.
Much to be thankful for! I’ll do mine tomorrow!
