Heroes of the City Movie App: Review and Competition

Heroes of the City was not something I’d heard of before I was approached by Ruta Ett DVD AB. They are a Swedish company that produces the TV series, apps and books. Heroes of the City is aimed at pre-school children.

I have to admit I was a little unsure as I really hadn’t heard of them before but we thought we’d give it a go.

We were sent a code to down the app onto Littlebit’s iPad and also a fab bundle of goodies.

The app is colourful and very easy for a pre-schooler to understand and navigate. Littlebit has needed no help whatsoever with it.

Littlebit loves the app. We did a fair bit of travelling over the Christmas period and this kept her entertained for hours and hours in the car (just a handy tip though if you use this app in the car, make sure they have it turned down or you’ll constantly be looking for the blues and twos in your rear view mirror as the sounds are so realistic!)

She also actively chooses this app instead of watching TV in the 20 minutes I allow her to let her breakfast go down before it’s a mad rush out of the door for Play School in the mornings.

You can follow the fantastically exciting adventures along with friends in town.  Meet Pauli Police Car and Fiona Fire Engine as they help the townspeople find thieves, put out fires, and solve one of the many mysteries that happen in the otherwise quiet town. You will also get to know Calamity Crow, the most misunderstood bird in town.

The movies are really interesting to watch and teach your child about safety and the games are a lot of fun too. There’s a lovely message to it all too, that friends always work together to solve problems!

An all-in-one, safe and fun children’s application. This is a perfect app for children 2-6 years old. The app includes both movies and games.
The content is fully adapted to the target audience and is based on the television series Heroes of the City for which you can get DVDs and other merchandise.

  • More than six hours of entertaining movies
  • Nine exciting games
  • Collect trophies to unlock your own secret surprise
  • Air Play function for your Apple TV
  • One full movie episode, 3 games and a music video for free you then pay £2.49 to unlock further “fun packs”

You can download the app from Apple App store and Google Play. I’d highly recommend it, it’s free after all so you can make the assessment of whether to add more features once your little one has had a go on the free stuff. What’s not to love about that?

And so to the competition. You could win the bundle shown below, a DVD, book and 2 die cast character vehicles. The DVD is alot of fun and Littlebit loves playing with the die cast characters as she watches it.

All you need to do is answer a simple question. What is the Heroes of the City Police Car’s name?
